Abstract :
BitTorrent is the most popular P2P application. So it is very significant to study its energy efficiency. Proxy-based energy efficient BitTorrent has been studied in recent years. In this paper we present the first study analytically on how long proxy should stays in multi-torrents for maximum energy efficient and minimum download time. We find that multiproxy should be deployed for maximum energy efficient and minimum download time. We also verify that, in single proxy situation, proxy downloading files simultaneously is better than that of one-by-one. Our result is useful for deploying proxy in BitTorrent file sharing system.
