  • Abstract
A cooperative test program between the United States Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO) and the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) was established to exploit a series of rocket launches from the Woomera Test Range in Australia as targets of opportunity for track fusion experiments. The objectives of the track fusion demonstrations were to perform sensor acquisition, metric data fusion, and real-time data/imagery transmission via an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) satellite link from Woomera to the Naval Command Control, and Ocean Surveillance Center, RDT&E Division (NRaD) in San Diego. This paper describes the key elements of the experiments, such as the radar, optical tracking mount, telescopes, sensors, and communications equipment along with examples of the fused data and MWIR imagery from two launches
