Abstract :
The use of ultrafast CT (computed tomography) to measure myocardial blood flow accurately has been recently demonstrated. A significant problem was found in identifying myocardial ischemia with traditional monochrome visualization. A pseudocolor display algorithm has been developed for myocardial perfusion visualization. The authors attempt to validate the color coding algorithm by comparing the amount of ischemia as measured by ultrafast CT and radioactive tracer microspheres using flow histograms of both techniques.<>
