Abstract :
This paper proposes a new method to generate the reference currents of a parallel active power filter used in three-phase four-wire systems. The proposed method (a) synthesizes a three-phase three-wire balanced load that is resistive and time invariant with respect to the source, and (b) can be applied in non-sinusoidal unbalanced three-phase four-wire systems, with or without zero-sequence components in the currents and/or voltages. Furthermore, no coordinate transformation is used to implement it, assuring a simple design. Simulation and experimental results validate the proposed method.
