Abstract :
This paper presents different methods to estimate the position in order to control a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (MSlin). This MSlin has Hall-effect sensors that give the position by stepwise and a MEMS accelerometer that tracks the absolute acceleration. In order to improve the resolution of the sensors taken individually, we propose to combine their data to obtain an accurate position of the moving part. Simulation and preliminary experimental results are presented and commented.
