Abstract :
In this paper, optimal control is utilized to formulate the AQM controller design as a constrained optimization problem. Quality of service requirements and network administration policy are integrated in the controller design enabling the administrator to control fairness and response time for the individual nodes. Heterogeneous network configuration with both of backward and forward delays has been considered in the TCP congestion control model. Careful Padé approximations and distinctive frequency response characteristics have been taken into account to deal with the system´s multiple delays. Analytical syntheses along with event-based simulation results are presented to support the performance and effectiveness of the proposed method.
