Abstract :
In this paper the influence of the winding layout on the core losses and also on the leakage inductance is investigated in transformers with air gapped toroids. An analytical method is used in which the field distribution is calculated by means of orthogonal expansion. Based on these results, some design guidelines are derived in order to optimize these components
