  • Abstract
    To the complexity of AVS inter-frame prediction coding, according to analyzing the characteristics of interlaced videos, on the basis of AVS inter-frame prediction mode technique, this paper poses a new inter-frame prediction mode called Intra_Interlace. Compared with the original AVS inter-frame prediction modes, it can predict the current coding blocks more accurately and effectively reduce the spatial redundancy between adjoining pixel blocks in coding process. The experimental results show that the new mode can get average more than 0.12dB SNR increasing in the inter-frame prediction of SD and HD interlaced videos with average 1.77% data rate reducing, whose effect is frequently obvious to the video sequences which have very complex grains. In a word, the new prediction mode can effectively improve coding efficiency.
