Abstract :
Design of a simple flexible multi-wavelength add-drop ROADM using MEMS based tunable wavelength selective filter is presented. This ROADM offers simultaneous tuning over different bands in addition to permanent add-drop channels and is suitable for application as edge-ROADM. The optical signal-to-noise ratio of all the express and add-drop channels of this ROADM is analyzed as a precursor for optimization of reconfigurable channels and pilot channels with reference to minimum gain control and cost.
