Abstract :
A description is given of a hardware system that can display cross-sectional tomographic data on an arbitrary plane in real time and 3-D shapes of organs in a very short time. The system is built of memory systems for 3-D and 2-D image data, address generators, a function unit, and a microcode memory. The system is controlled by microcodes transferred from the personal computer. Real-time display on any cross-sectional plane and 3-D image display of organs provide easy understanding of the internal structure of the object.<>
