Abstract
An evaluation of the magnitude, duration, and frequency of disturbances as seen by a large industrial plant, the tolerances of sensitive plant equipment to these disturbances, and the effect on plant operation is presented. The study reveals that momentary interruptions, voltage sags, and impulses are detrimental to the plant´s operation to varying degrees. The results indicate several cost-effective options for minimizing the effect of these disturbances
