Abstract :
A dual mechanical port (DMP) machine is a new kind of machine with two rotors. Those in literature can be classified into independent field type, as the fact that there is no effective electromagnetic coupling between different parts in the machine. A new type of DMP machine is presented in this paper, which features as a unified field in the machine. This kind of machine can utilize d-axis current more effectively, which leads to higher overall efficacy as well as torque density. A unique equivalent circuit model of this machine is derived with the assistance of FEA evaluation. The torque strengthen effect is proved by the FEA evaluation.
