Abstract
Different pulse width modulation methods, such as sinusoidal PWM and space vector PWM (SVPWM), have been widely utilized to control the output voltage of the three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI). A novel SVPWM algorithm is presented in this paper. The principle of novel SVPWM is explained firstly. Then the deduction, testification and simulation based on the MATLAB are given. Finally the novel SVPWM and the common SVPWM are implemented in the digital signal processor of TMS320LF2407. Simulation and experimental results show that the new SVPWM has less computation work and the same utilization of the dc link voltage as the common SVPWM. Besides the switching frequency of VSI can be easily optimized in the novel SVPWM, so it is a promising PWM method.
