Abstract

The paper describes a full development system for the analysis of wavelet transform properties in subband coding of images. The software is user friendly and has been developed under the Windows 95 environment. The system is quite open and can be freely expanded and modified. Up to this time it has been equipped with several common wavelet filter banks. In the area of vector quantization it is equipped with different structures of algorithms for codebook design, separately for each subband. It certainly has the tools for determining the quality of the implemented algorithms and achieved level of data compression ratio. The developed system is destined for both research and development and university laboratories
