Abstract :
We investigate a simple direct-sequence spread-spectrum scheme to communicate over the universally present power-lines. To overcome the strong electromagnetic polluted channel a direct-sequence spread spectrum concept is used with its inherent processing gain. In order to achieve a simple design, we adapt the spectrum to the channel by chip-shaping and use a sub-optimum detection scheme to avoid synchronization loops
