  • Abstract
Optimizing wireless networks represents a complex task, directly affecting quality, coverage, capacity and cost. In this paper, a new coverage presentation method based on geographic information system is proposed for coverage optimization in CDMA work. The proposed method represents a novel approach in that it focuses on distribution of successful access points around the base station (BS), that can reflect the actual coverage situation vividly. We analyze and render the distribution of the mobile stations (MS), which successfully access the base station in CDMA network in order to figure out coverage boundary. In a live network optimization test, application of this method to a cell with high proportion of soft-switching has shown the effectiveness of proposed approach.
