Abstract :
The balanced gamma network is a fault tolerant multistage interconnection network. In a previous paper, the reliability of the balanced gamma network was studied. The terminal reliability, broadcast reliability, and the network reliability were evaluated. However, the previously provided network reliability model was approximated. In this paper, we introduce an exact model for the network reliability of the balanced gamma network taking into account all possible combinations of the switching elements failures in any stage. Realistic failure rates are used to evaluate the reliabilities of switching elements and the results confirm the robustness of the balanced gamma network
