Abstract
This paper evaluates the effects of nonlinearities on the performance of synchronous M-PSK code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems for applications in multiple tiers. The system performance in terms of bit error rate (BER) and system capacity is discussed. The effects of utilizing different families of spreading code sequences such as orthogonal (OG), preferred-phase Gold (PG), and pseudonoise (PN) codes are explored. The desired operating point of a nonlinear amplifier is also determined in order to achieve the best performance
