Abstract :
A method to identify the flight dynamics model of a helicopter in hovering is put forward in this paper. First, a mechanism model of the helicopter is given and a great lot of helicopter flight tests are performed based on this model. Then, flight data obtained from the tests are used in the proposed stepwise regression identification approach to ascertain the parameters of flight dynamics model and a state-space model of the helicopter in hovering is built. Finally, flight experiments are carried out and the results validate the correctness and accuracy of the model.
