Abstract
In burst mode systems synchronization is a key aspect. In these systems estimators become very attractive because of their fast convergence, which allows the reference parameter acquisition time to be very short. Estimators are, however, very sensitive to frequency offsets, leading to a degradation in their performance. The authors propose a novel feedforward technique for reference parameter recovery, the main characteristics of which are simplicity, tolerance of large frequency offsets and short acquisition time
