Abstract :
We present an advanced 61 GHz multi-beam Doppler radar system capable of precisely measuring the velocity vector of a vehicle over ground. We employ low-cost surface-wave coupled active integrated antennas as Doppler sensors to provide direction-sensitive velocity information. Measured system performance shows excellent speed measurement accuracy of 0.3% relative error and reliable velocity sign detection for speeds as low as 1 cm/s.
