Abstract :
A discussion is presented of ten years of research, development, and evaluation in the domain of active microwave imaging for biomedical applications. After the reasons for the late start of this imaging modality are explained, the most recent results are presented to illustrate its main features and limitations as well as expected improvement in the next few years.<>
