Abstract :
Due to its simplicity, the boost rectifier with automatic control is potentially the least expensive active line-harmonics reducing circuit. The filtered line current, however, shows considerable distortion when the peak input voltage is close to the output voltage. This paper presents an analysis of the circuit, discusses the compliance with EN61000-3-2, reviews two previous distortion-reduction methods, and proposes a new, more economical, and technically superior, method
