Abstract :
We propose a sound-based urban sensing system which utilizes inexpensive microphone nodes and extracts location-dependent features to beneficially assist in characterizing a specific location in the city. Our goal is to overlay the aggregated feature data onto a digital map that can be accessed by end-users who are interested in the context of certain locations.
