Abstract :
A detailed generalized statistical development of an equipment reliability testing plan is presented and compared with the specific International Electrotechnical Commission´s IEC Standard Publication 605-5: `Equipment reliability testing.´ Detailed references, discussions, definitions of terms, illustrations, and a case study are presented to provide an understanding of the complex area of demonstrating the reliability of new or existing emergency and standby power equipment and systems
