Abstract :
Summary form only given. A binary arithmetic coder (BAC) can be used to efficiently encode a stream of more-probable (MPS) and less-probable (LPS) symbols. In this work, we describe two improvements to BAC and combine them to form the B-coder. The first improvement concerns the representation of the LPS probability while the second improvement concerns obtaining the estimate of the LPS probability
