Abstract
A fully software-controlled digital active power filter (APF) using a current source pulse-width-modulated (PWM) converter is presented. A space vector modulation technique for the PWM converter is developed to generate the desired current vectors of the digital APF, compensating both reactive power and harmonic current. The system is implemented with a minimal control hardware structure using the Intel 80196kc single-chip microcontroller. The control algorithms are verified through experimental results
