Abstract :
PEEK (Performance Extraction and Exploration tool-Kit) is a product designed to provide software developers with the means to explore and improve various aspects of the performance of applications on PowerPC systems. PEEK has been engineered to support multiple operating systems that run on PowerPC processors, including the AIXTM, MacTM OS, and Windows NTTM operating systems. A common graphical interface is used to allow visual navigation through both static and dynamic aspects of an application. Color is used to summarize frequency information where the application spends its time. Source and annotated assembler listings of an application are available for exploration; these are correlated to the graphical representation of the application
