            Abstract :
Statistical multiplexing of bursty traffic with diverse QoS requirements is realized in a fully distributed manner in an ad-hoc wireless ATM multihop (AWAM) network. Transmit capacity is reserved on a per burst basis using a TDMA channel structure. Priorities are used to differentiate between rt-VBR and ABR services and to reduce the random access collision probability. Channels are used for the duration of a burst only. The effects of design variables on the protocol performance is analyzed through stochastic simulation
