Abstract :
Compact dielectric inclusions overlapping a waveguide cross-section either totally or partially have received the name waveguide dielectric resonators (WDR). They are widely used with microwave techniques as filter resonant sections, sealed windows for vacuum tubes, terminal loads, and so on. In this paper the results of studies of eigenmode spectral properties and resonant absorption characteristics are presented for WDR with dielectric loss. Numerical results are obtained for a set of H-plane type WDRs on the basis of rigorous mathematical models of spectral and diffraction problems on the assumption that waveguide walls are ideal conductors. The models are built by using well-known methods like the semi-inversion and mode-matching ones, and their modifications for solving boundary-value spectral problems
