Abstract :
The authors present the research, development and application of robotics in Chile, during the last ten years. The main research has been done at the universities. Only some results have been used by industries and enterprises. The contributions in computer vision, robotics manipulators, automated guided vehicles, CAD/CAM, knowledge based systems, and flexible manufacturing systems are discussed. The role of the IEEE chapters and the Chilean Association of Automatic Control in the promotion of this field is described
