Abstract
In this paper, the analytical solution of 3 phase sudden short circuit current for PMSG is derived with solid pole shoes replaced by damping windings. But numerically solution of current can not be approached from the analytical solution for the inductances relating to damping windings could not be calculated directly. For the direct solution of current, time stepping FEM is used with time constants and inductances obtained through current oscillogram analysis. Besides, the d-axis and q-axis sub-transient inductances could be obtained by 2 dimension eddy current field calculation. And the two inductances results are slightly different due to calculation meaning.
