Abstract
This paper presents a theoretical model for the air intake process of a turbocharger diesel engine. Global models taking into account thermodynamics of the different steps of the diesel cycle have been proposed in the literature. This is an attempt to describe the dynamics of the air into the manifold and the intake phase by physical equations. The study shows the role of the turbocompressor on the manifold and on the cylinder parameters during their filling
