Abstract :
Two current controllers, the PWM/PI and the PWM/PI with feedback of estimated back EMFs (electromotive forces) in the minor loop schemes, have been implemented in software using the Intel 80960 32 b microprocessor-based system. The system has few components and is very flexible, which allows easy experimental evaluation of different current controllers. Experimental results show that significant performance improvements can be obtained with the use of estimated back EMF in the current controller. The algorithm is easy to implement and seems to be robust to parameter variations
