Abstract
In tackling the semantic Web, a rich domain that requires special attention is the Semantic Geospatial Web. We make a contribution to the Semantic Geospatial Web by defining an approach based on an ontology for integrating nonspatial resources such as html, pdf, pictures (gif, jpg), etc., with GML documents. It is based on a catalog, which stores descriptions about both nonspatial resources and GML documents. These descriptions have to satisfy, fully or partially, an ontology to be stored in the catalog. Thus, this approach allows the execution of queries that include spatial and nonspatial operators over both kinds of resources.
