Abstract :
To study the effect of β-ray irradiation on apoptosis in human benign hyperplastic prostate tissue. 20 BPH patients were randomly divided into 4 groups, no irradiation was applied in the control group, 90Sr/90Y β-ray individually irradiated the other 3 groups for 1 day, 4 days and 7 days. The apoptosis of human hyperplastic prostate tissues were studied by TUNEL detection, flow cytometry and agarose gel electrophoresis. The DNA sequence of control group remained intact, compared with the control group, the percentage of apoptosis in the other 3 groups by 90Sr/90Y β-ray irradiation rose up, the apoptosis of prostate tissue was increased according to the dose of irradiation (P<;0.01), typical DNA Ladder band appeared in DNA fragment electrophoresis test in β-ray irradiation for 7 days group. β-ray irradiation can effectively induce and develop apoptosis in human hyperplastic prostate tissue and cause reduction of prostate tissue.
