  • Abstract
    In order to select right restorative materials in clinic, we compared marginal microleakage of 5 different restorative materials in vitro. Fifty premolar teeth without dental carries which were extracted because of orthodontic treatment were assigned into five groups randomly. The box cavities were prepared on the buccal cervical surfaces of the premolars and then restored with five different restorative materials (Spectrum TPH, Dyract AP, Solitaire 2, FujiIIGC and GK amalgam). Then microleakages were assessed by measuring the extent of dye penetration along the restoration-tooth interface under stereomicroscope. The results showed the microleakage of amalgam was the most serious one of the five materials. The Solitaire 2 and Spectrum TPH had satisfied adhesive abilities to enamel in the occlusal margins, while Fuji_GC and Dyract AP had satisfied adhesive abilities to dentin in the gingival margins.
