Abstract :
A new architecture of two-hop-relay variable-rate cellular system was introduced, and the analytical model of this system was built. Then based on this model, we get the average downlink throughput and the call blocking probability of the system respectively. Finally, through numerical calculation, we analyze the impact of the various parameters on the performance of the two-hop-relay variable-rate cellular systems. Study results show that the two-hop-relay variable-rate cellular system can obtain more average downlink throughput than traditional cellular system, and reduce the call blocking probability effectively.
