Abstract :
A new Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) error identification and range approximation algorithm based on apriori knowledge of standard deviation of measurement noise in cellular networks is proposed. First, a NLOS error identification technique is exploited to decide whether there is a NLOS path from the base station (BS) to the mobile station (MS) using a time series of range measurements; Second, a weighted orthogonal polynomial fitting method is used to approximate the true range. Simulation and results show that our proposed algorithm can achieve range approximation enhancement and exhibit significant improvement in intermittent NLOS environment.
