Abstract
The dimension and material characteristic of the rotor bar can directly affect the electromagnetic parameters of line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor (LSPMSM), such as the resistance and reactance of the stator and rotor, which further affect the motor´s starting performance. In this paper, the electromagnetic parameters of LSPMSM with different rotor bar designs are calculated and the starting performance including the starting current and starting torque is also studied. Finally, the relationship between rotor bar parameters and motor´s starting parameters is presented, which provides a basis for optimizing the rotor bar of permanent magnet motors.
