Abstract :
In order to improve the accuracy of reliability assessment in the reliability-based design optimization, the second order sensitivity analysis is studied by using the hybrid direct differentiation-adjoint variable method. And then the second order sensitivity is combined with the Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) method. Finally, the reliability evaluation by the second order sensitivity-assisted MCS method is applied to the TEAM problem 22, and its accuracy is validated by comparing the calculation results with the conventional MCS and first order sensitivity-assisted MCS methods.
