Abstract :
In this paper, a novel channel estimation technique is presented to fight against the impairment caused by the rapidly time-varying channel and random phase noise, which is very common in the wireless orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. By utilizing the optimal comb pilots and a linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) estimator, the algorithm proposed can jointly perform the channel and phase noise estimation using a modified basis expansion model (BEM). Theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that this scheme can estimate the channel information accurately, and then improve the performance of equalization for reducing ICI.
