Abstract :
This paper presents a simplified nonlinear pneumatic actuator model. Then, a time optimal position control solution is presented based on the nonlinear model and a pressure control assumption. The theoretical analysis is accompanied by experimental data and concept testing proof. The specific actuator studied is a production internal combustion engine exhaust gas recirculation control valve
