Abstract :
This paper presents the design of a compact, internally-coupled hairpin-line bandpass filter based on resonator elements. Investigations on the dimension parameters were performed using electromagnetic simulation software. The parameters that affect the filter performances were identified. From the investigations carried out, it was found that the design dimensions can be fine-tuned for optimization and hence achieved the desired specifications. In addition, the performance of the proposed miniaturized internally-coupled hairpin-line design is comparable to a corresponding conventional hairpin-line configuration, albeit exhibiting 46% reduction in size.
