Abstract
Presents a client-server computing model which is established on an Ethernet-based LANs running under Novell Netware. Simple PCs serve as clients and a powerful PC based system which contains an i860 RISC processor and an i486 CICS processor serves as the server. Remote program execution facilities with certain parallel capabilities are provided over the environment. The design will allow this simple model to be extended to a multiple-client-multiple-server model so that each workstation can take the role of either a server or a client, thus the benefits from the use of the distributed computing environment described can be realised
