Abstract :
There are several protocols which have been proposed to meet the requirements of an integrated service. The authors propose a modified double token-ring network protocol to increase the effect on an integrated service environment. The new protocol has two modes: (1) normal mode (N mode). (2) video-audio mode (V-A mode). The normal mode is like a general double token-ring network that is suited for sending original date. The video-audio mode is a new method. In this mode, video and audio can be sent to each other by two links efficiently. A management node will allocate N mode or V-A mode by an efficient algorithm. They also propose a method to recover the network if a link is broken in V-A mode
