  • Abstract
In this study, the expression of 14-3-3gamma and CLIC4 proteins in hippocampus and cortex surrounding the ischemia area was studied. The middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) method was used to induce the focal cerebral ischemia in hippocampus and cortex and was identified with a pathological morphological method. 2, 3, 5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining showed the area of cerebral ischemia. 14-3-3gamma proteins of hippocampus and cortex neurons around the ischemia area were positive in the cytoplasm, especially in the nucleus. CLIC4 proteins of hippocampus and cortex neurons in the control group were positive in the nucleus and negative in the cytoplasm, whereas those around the ischemia area were mainly positive in the cytoplasm. 14-3-3gamma and CLIC4 proteins may play a protective role in the neurons surrounding the ischemic area.
