Abstract
This paper covers with the successful application of the conversion from a Central Control System (CCS) to Distributed Control System (DCS) through the specially designed Distributed Control Unit (DCU). Emphasis is placed on how to design the DCU to make it more user specific and how to rebuild a DCS with these new DCUs. After conversion, significant machine performance enhancement was achieved when we put the DCU into real application. This indicates that with proper study and careful plan, the DCS idea can be very successful in the industry automation area to control automated machines
