Abstract :
This paper illustrates an algorithm to estimate the storage space of the stocker in automated material handling systems (AMHS) by the queuing theory. It helps to calculate the storage space of stockers for circulative production work-in-progress (WIP) in a running FAB, and to evaluate the stocker size in planning a new AMHS for 200 mm or 300 mm FAB as well.
