  • Abstract
Voltage-source inverters are generally composed of only one switching cell per phase. The classical direct torque control (DTC) technique for this kind of inverter has well known advantages, but may not be used in high power systems due to the high frequency that this technique typically requires. The present work deals with the use of a multi-cell voltage-source inverter controlled with an improved DTC technique in order to solve partially this problem. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the behavior of the proposed drive system
